KEATING - John (Jack) William Keating - 85 - Grafton, OH, born in Johnstown, PA July 24, 1926 passed away peacefully April 9, 2012 at the home of his son, Curt after a brief illness. Jack served in the US Navy from 1945 - 46, on the USNTC Sampson, NY and USS Apollo and also in the US Naval Reserve from 1946 - 1954. He retired in 1987 as a controller from SCM Glidden Metal Products in NC after 46 years. As an avid musician, he remained actively involved in various community bands as well as teaching future percussionists. He made many memories in Johnstown, PA, North Olmsted, OH; Cary, NC; and Boynton Beach, FL.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving children John L. (Cynthia) - Westlake, OH; Beth M. Adams - Raleigh, NC; Michael W. - Willow Springs, NC; Curt J. (Melissa) - Grafton, OH; Mark D. (Terry) - Clarksburg, MD; Robert J - Middleburgh Heights, OH; Julianne M. - Knightdale, NC, and over 30 Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Angie (McMeans) and John M. Keating, wife Agnes (Dolly) E Larrimer Keating, daughter Ann E Keating (all from Johnstown, PA), and grandson Jack (Garner, NC).

To share memories and celebrate his life, friends may call at the Chambers Funeral Home, 29150 Lorain Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Friday April 13 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday April 14 at 11:00 AM at The Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Rd., N Olmsted. Private family interment will take place at a later date in Johnstown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Medina Community Band and the North Royalton Community Band.
