ALAN J. SIMON age 85; retired and decorated motorcycle police officer for the City of Cleveland, Division of Police. Beloved husband of 61yrs to Veronica (nee Innocenti), loving father of John A. (Marsha) and Eddie, proud Grandpa of Jessica and Alyssa Simon, brother of Ronald (Gwen)(both deceased), Gerald (Mary Ellen), Arlene Weber (Fred)(both deceased) and Rosemary Hamilton-deceased, uncle and great uncle of many. U. S. Army veteran. Passed away June 20, 2026. Funeral Mass Wednesday, June 24, St. Bridget of Kildare Church (5620 Hauserman Rd. Parma) at 10 A.M. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Alan lived a long, fulfilling, and impactful life. He led by example, embodying the belief that actions speak louder than words. Throughout his life, he demonstrated integrity, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to doing what was right.

Raised in Cleveland’s West 130th Streetneighborhood, Alan attended St. Vincent DePaul Grade School and graduated from Saint Edward High School in 1959, where he distinguished himself as a standout pitcher on the baseball team. He went on to attend Kent State University and proudly served in the Ohio National Guard before beginning his career with the Cleveland Police Department.

During his distinguished 34-year career as a Cleveland police officer, Alan earned numerous commendations and served in several specialized units, including the Motorcycle Unit, Traffic Unit, and as a Detective in the Hit-Skip and Accident Investigation Units. His professionalism, dedication, and service to the community left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him and the citizens he served.

Beyond his career, Alan was an avid golfer who found great joy in the friendships, camaraderie, and countless hours spent on the golf course. Above all, he devoted himself to caring for his family and friends, making it his life's mission to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to those he loved.

Alan will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit remains present in the values he instilled and the example he set. We will forever remember his kindness, strength, and lifelong commitment to doing the right thing for the right reasons.
