ALEX R. LAIRD, age 87, beloved husband of 59 years to Judith A. (nee Miller); loving father of Timothy (Roseann), David (Laurie), Scott (Rhonda), Gregory (Kathleen) and Jeanne Scarsipino (Mario); proud grandpa of Jeffrey, Scott, Alex, Elizabeth, Olivia, Matthew, Meredith and Vincent; son of the late Matilda (nee Hansen) and Alexander Laird; brother of Margaret Jane Elish (John), Ralph (Carol) and LeeAnn Laird; beloved uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.  U.S. Army veteran.  Passed away December 28, 2020.  Mr. Laird retired from the Cleveland Board of Education and had served as assistant principal at James Ford Rhodes High School and principal at Wilbur Wright Jr. High School and John Hay High School.  Funeral Mass Saturday, January 2, St. Mary of the Falls Church (25615 Bagley Rd., Olmsted Falls) at 10 A.M. where social distancing will be observed and facemasks required. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, there will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, 23215 Commerce Park, Ste. 300, Beachwood, OH 44122.
