IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allan S.
Petty
March 24, 1948 – July 8, 2024
ALLAN S. PETTY, age 76, died July 8, 2024. He was born March 24, 1948. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Janice (nee Kadlec) and his children Steven, Allison (Dan Prudhoe), Kristen Merritt (Sean) and Paul (Kimmi). Allan was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Roxy, Jack, Miles, Monroe, Carter and Stella. He is also survived by his brother Bruce and was preceded in death by his sister Sandy.
Allan served honorably in the US Army before embarking on a successful career as a Millwright-Pile Driver with Local #1090, where he was a dedicated member for nearly 55 years. His work helped shape several Cleveland landmarks, including The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Progressive Field, and the Brown's Stadium.
In retirement, Allan devoted his time to his family and his passion for the outdoors. He was an avid boater and gardener and had an exceptional talent for fixing anything. He was often found tinkering on projects in his yard. Allan was hard working, had a great sense of humor and was always the first to help anyone in need. Known for his generosity, Allan often carried envelopes of two-dollar bills to share with families he'd meet, hoping to invest in their children's futures. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet for his Funeral Mass Friday, July 19, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (25801 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station) at 11 A.M. The Petty family will also receive friends on Saturday, July 20, at 11 A.M. at the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., with a Memorial Service at 12 P.M.
