ANDREW JOHN DeSANTI (age 92), beloved husband of the late June Harriet (nee Cable); father of Charles Louis, Walter Andrew and Carole June; grandfather of Ryan Andrew and Kathryn Linn; son of the late Katica and Andre; brother of the late Margaret, Kay and Walter; uncle and great uncle of many. Andrew was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and served in the European Theater in 1944 and 1945. He landed on Omaha Beach on June 9, 1944 and participated in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns earning four bronze stars. After the war, Andrew earned a BA in social work from Ohio University in 1950 and an MSW from The Ohio State University in 1955. He was hired by the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court in 1956 and was named Chief of Probation Services in 1970 serving in that capacity until his retirement. Andrew was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and also a cherished friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. Passed away January 28, 2017. Funeral Service Saturday, February 4, at 2 P.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., where friends may call SATURDAY 12 NOON UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
