Anne Gierth was a long time resident of Brooklyn Ohio died suddenly from complications of Covid-19. Born in Yugoslavia (currently Slovenia).   Became a refugee after the war and emigrated to US in 1950 where she worked first as a maid and then as a factory worker at General Electric Nela Park.   Married and moved to Brooklyn Ohio in 1954.  Proudly became a US citizen along with her 2 sisters and mother on the same day in December 1955.  Became a stay at home Mom then worked at American Greetings in Brooklyn for many years after her children became older.   Traveled the world with her husband for years after their retirements.  Continued to live in Brooklyn after his untimely death in 1993.  Left her home in Brooklyn in 2018 after suffering a broken hip and spend last few years in assisted living and nursing home while receiving regular visits from her loving children, other family members and close personal friends.
