It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of ANN MINEK (nee Renwick), affectionately known as "Nana," who peacefully left us surrounded by family in the comfort of her home on August 3rd at the age of 88. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and mother in law , whose unwavering love and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Ann leaves behind a family who love and adored her, daughters Ruthann Valek (Mark) , Suzanne Walters (John), Patty Svancara (Matt), Kristy Peck (Aaron) , Sons Bill Minek (Maryann) John Minek (DeeAnne) and Grandchildren, Billy Minek, Matthew Valek, Christopher Minek, Jeffrey Valek, Joseph Minek, Kyle Walters, Matthew Svancara, Alixandria Brlan, Johnny Minek, Colin Svancara, Daniel Minek , and Tyler Peck. And 14 great grandchildren. A family whose lives she touched with her generosity and kindness and love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Ann's greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her family and they lovingly called her "Nana". Her role as Nana brought her immense happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with her family.
Before retirement Ann was a dedicated and hardworking woman who tirelessly cared for her family. She was a beloved lunch lady at Chestnut and Spruce Schools in North Olmsted, where her warm smile and kind heart made a difference in the lives of countless students. Additionally, Ann served as a school crossing guard for the city of Westlake, ensuring the safety of the children with her friendly wave and caring presence.
Ann had a passion for life that included a love for family vacations, especially cruises and trips to Disney, where she created countless joyful memories with her family. She also enjoyed playing her penny slots at the casino and attending family parties, where her laughter and joy were infectious.
A special bond existed between Ann and her youngest daughter Kristy, while all her daughters supported her devoted care, Kristy was her primary caregiver in the final years of her life. Their relationship was one of deep love, and Kristy's care provided great comfort and companionship to Ann.
Funeral Service Wednesday, August 7, at 11 A.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD. where friends and family are invited to share their memories TUESDAY 4-7 P.M. and honor the remarkable woman who will always be our beloved Nana.
If you choose you can make a donation in Ann's memory to St Jude's Children Hospital, reflecting her spirit of giving and her love of children.
Rest in peace, Nana. Your love and light will continue to guide us, and your memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration and enduring love.
