Anna Rose Pack, age 85, of Westlake, Ohio, formerly of Hinton, West Virginia, peacefully passed from our lives, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations.

Born to James H. Townsley and Roxie Jane Townsley (née Bennett), Anna was raised with the values of resilience, generosity, and deep devotion to family. She was the only daughter, growing up alongside her three brothers, Gene Christian, Paul Townsley, and Roger Townsley. The strong bonds and enduring family values of her childhood shaped the remarkable woman she became.

Anna was a loving and devoted mom to her daughters, Donna, Brenda (Glenn), and Roberta (Dale). As a single mother, she worked tirelessly and sacrificed endlessly to ensure her girls were cared for, protected, and given every opportunity she could provide.

Her home was the center of everything. A place where no one left hungry and everyone felt welcome. Anna believed there should always be more than enough food, enough for the family and the entire neighborhood... just in case someone else showed up. Anna was a gifted cook, famous especially for her homemade biscuits: golden, tender, and made from scratch with the kind of skill that cannot be written in a recipe.

Anna’s love multiplied with each generation. She was a proud grandmother to David (Emily), Sean (Ashley), Jared (Heather), Stacy, Daniel (Winnie), Lesley (Todd), Miranda (Jimmy), and Emily. She adored her great-grandchildren — Liliana, Olivia, Meghan, Preston, Jared, Ella, Meadow, Kai, Eli, Johnathan, William, Zachary (Logan), Hannah, Maddie, and Rayven — and delighted in her great-great-grandchildren, Paisleigh and Nova, and family friends Kim, Pat, and Jackie. Each of them brought her pride and joy, and she treasured every story, visit, and milestone.

Anna was loving and kind, with a touch of occasional stubbornness. She certainly was one to stand her ground. She could raise an eyebrow with just the right amount of sass to let you know exactly what she was thinking, often without saying a word. That spark was part of her charm and part of what made her unforgettable.

She had a sweet tooth that never faded and a lifelong love of candy. A bowl of sweets nearby was never far from reach. She loved flowers, a good rag mag, and any Ohio sports game. She could sit contentedly with a puzzle, patiently working each piece into place, just as she patiently pieced together a life for her family. And if there was good gossip to be shared, Anna was all ears, enjoying the simple pleasure of conversation and connection.

One of her most beautiful qualities was that she truly never met a stranger. She greeted people with warmth and familiarity. She made others feel seen and welcome, often within minutes of meeting them. Her presence was comforting, her laughter familiar, and her love steady. She was everyone’s grandma.

Anna’s life was not measured in wealth or accolades, but in meals prepared, candies shared, hands held, children raised, stories told, and generations loved fiercely. Though her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, her spirit lives on in every shared recipe, every blooming flower, every puzzle completed at the kitchen table, every sweet piece of candy enjoyed, and every gathering where there is more than enough food, just the way she would have wanted.

Her life was a blessing. Her memory will be a treasure.
