BARBARA LUCY CASTLE, 90, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023 in Westlake, Ohio.

Memorial Service Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., where friends may call SATURDAY, APRIL 29, 10 A.M. UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.

Barbara was born in Anoka, MN to John and Katherine Heslop on May 2, 1932.  The homecoming queen married her homecoming king and school sweetheart, A. Peter Castle on April 18, 1953.  They moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1958, raising their four children in North Olmsted, Ohio.  Barb was very involved in her community of Bretton Ridge, as well as in the PTA, the Girl Scouts, and as a hospital volunteer. She loved to dance, travel, play bridge and throw parties for her many long-time Bretton Ridge friends, as well as friends in Port Charlotte, FL.   She was certainly the life of the party, very fun-loving, not afraid to do things her way.  Close friends considered her their "ring leader" when it came activities and adventures, especially on their ski trips out west.

More than anything, Barb was devoted to her family.  Her husband and children were the most important things to her.  And then the grandchildren began arriving, becoming the lights of her life.  She enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible, whether it was skiing together at Holiday Valley in NY, spending summers together around their pool at home in Westlake, or in Florida while she and Pete lived there. Nothing gave her more pleasure than celebrating special occasions and holidays with her family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her life-long love Pete, her parents, her brother-in-law, Jiggs McKee, and nephew, Tom McKee.

Barbara is survived by her children, Mary Stanley and husband Jim of Austin, TX, Susan Clark and husband Dan of Watkinsville, GA, Chuck Castle and wife Lisa of Grayson, GA, and Lynda Neumann of Westlake, OH. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Stanley and wife Gabby, Brian Stanley, Cate Stanley, Emily Castle, Peter Castle and wife Rachel, Ben Neumann and Samantha Neumann, great-granddaughters Charlotte and Margaret Stanley, and her much-loved sister, Joan McKee, and nephew John McKee and wife Naida of Pleasant Valley, MO.

Memorials may be given to the Cleveland Area Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Clare Bridge Memory Care, as well as the Suncrest Hospice staff.
