Bernard "Ben" P. Supinski , son of the late Mary and Peter Supinski, born in Cleveland, OH on August 17, 1928, went to be with our Lord on January 13, 2021, he was 92 years old.
Survived by his dedicated and loving wife, Nellie Mae (Bryant)Supinski, Ben had six children, Donald C. Supinski (deceased), Bernard M. Supinski (Kathie), Joseph A. Supinski (Lori), Mary Bryant McCourt (David, deceased), Carolyn S. Compton and Barbara L. Simoncic (Matt), brother Eugene Supinski (Pat), With 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren,3 great grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, his gregarious family was filled with love, laughter and grateful memories.
A Phi Kappa graduate of Ohio University, Ben went on to Ohio State for his masters in industrial engineering.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1959 and made his career as a buyer for TRW, retiring in 1989.  Very involved in his community, St. Bartholomew and St. Mary of the Falls, Eucharistic Minister, Toastmasters International, Past Governor of District 10, a Distinguished Toastmaster and Parliamentarian, and many other organizations.  Ben truly enjoyed bowling, sports, Catholic Charities and Pro-Life, along with endless games of cards and bingo with the family.  Among many awards, his greatest accomplishments included 66 years of marriage, raising his children and teaching faith, finance, perseverance and patience.  His first-born son, Don, became quadriplegic at the age of 16, tripping in the house.  With Ben & Nellie's support and care, Don made history in 1997, becoming the first man to do the NYC Marathon without use of his arms or legs, by using his only available strength to push his head into the headrest of his power chair for over 26 miles.  Every life is important, born and unborn, and should be treated with respect and opportunity.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, January 20, St. Mary of the Falls Church (25615 Bagley Rd.) (Facemasks required) at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
Family, friends and members of the community are invited to CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD AT STEARNS  TUESDAY 4-7 PM., where social distancing will be observed and facemasks required.
Donations can be made to Catholic Charities in his honor.
