BESSIE JUDITH VOYTKO (nee Jurkovich) was born at home on Rt. 313 in Cambridge, Ohio on September 23, 1919 to the late Stephen and Mary (nee Krupko) Jurkovich. She went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2018 at the age of 98. Beloved wife for 61 years of the late Peter S. Voytko, Sr. Devoted mother of Lydia Rowan (Leo, deceased) of Montville, OH; Marjorie Voytko of Petersburg, NY; Paula Cole (Daryl) of Brooklyn, OH; Betsy Dossman (Roland) of Cypress, TX; and Peter S. Voytko, Jr. (Sandy) of Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH. Cherished grandmother of 13 (two deceased); loving great-grandmother of 18; step-grandmother of 2; step-great-grandmother of 6; step-great-great-grandmother of 1. Survived by 3 brothers and 5 sisters; pre-deceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Bessie lived a life devoted to her faith, family and friends and now rests in the Lord's loving arms. Bessie's life of service to others included almost 50 years as President of the Altar Guild at Pentecost Lutheran Church; a volunteer at Lakewood Hospital for 40 years; an ardent advocate for Right to Life, marching in Washington, D.C., for approximately 35 years with her children and grandchildren; a member of the Lakewood Historical Society quilting group for 30 years; and with her husband, Peter, supported numerous families with food and clothing for over 60 years. All Services Saturday, February 17, 2018, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 14560 Madison Ave., Lakewood, OH with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M. with the Celebration Service at 11 A.M. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, 32789 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH 44011.
