BETTY L. LEWIS (nee Bigley) age 90.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph P; loving mother of Patrick (Anita) and Terrence, MD (Susie); proud and loving grandmother of Katherine, Christopher, Grace, and Jackson.

A strong and independent woman. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She artfully balanced a long working career with the successful raising of her family during a life that was not always easy, but to which she brought a hopeful outlook and a glad heart.

After graduating from Lourdes Academy, Betty began her long career, first as a secretary then rising over the course of five decades to become a principal of the Human Resources Department of an area manufacturing company.

She loved to travel but even more she loved being with her grandchildren. She overcame much, including the early death of her husband and two bouts with breast cancer, never discouraged or disheartened.

She was wise and she was kind to the end of her long, full life. Those whom she touched are the better for having known her.

She will be missed and she will be remembered.
