BRIAN J. MAYER,
age 63, a Naperville, IL resident since 1984, formerly of Cleveland, OH, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at his home with family by his side after a three year battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Susan Mayer (nee Peters), whom he married August 30, 2003, loving father of Christine (Rob Coons) Mayer of Evanston, IL, Eric (Rachel) Mayer of Downers Grove, IL, Kevin (Liza) Mayer of Chicago, IL, Braden (MacKenzie) Schultz of Sioux Falls, SD, Erin Schultz of Naperville and Nathan (Anneliese) Schultz of Gold Canyon, AZ, adored grandfather of Noelle, Elise, Travis and Henry, devoted son of Richard and Anne "Mickey" Mayer of Rocky River, OH, dear brother of Christopher (Joan) Mayer of Brecksville, OH, Anne (Warren) Plesmid of Newbury, OH and the late Mary Mayer, an infant sister, fond nephew, cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many.
Brian grew up in Cleveland, was a 1973 graduate of St. Ignatius High School and received a degree in Business/Marketing from the University of Dayton. He later earned an MBA from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, IL. Brian started his work career with the Canadian Pacific Railway in Michigan, Canada and Oak Brook, IL, later worked for Telcordia Technologies, Inc. in Lisle, IL and was currently employed with Northrop Grumman, Rolling Meadows, IL.
Brian was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Naperville. He enjoyed playing volleyball, fishing, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 20, 10:30 AM at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville also,
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 23, St. Patrick Church (West Park) at 10 A.M. where friends may call 9 A.M. until time of Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
