CAROL ANN SESSO, earned her Angel Wings on July 22, 2022, at the age of 82.  She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 29, 1940. After her high school years, she earned an undergraduate, then Master's degree in Education.  She was a dedicated teacher for 50 years, teaching at several schools in the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. Over the years, she would meet many former students who told her that she was their favorite teacher and expressed gratitude for impacting and touching their lives.

Carol was considered a Master Teacher.  She taught various levels over the years ranging from fifth grade all the way to students at Ursuline College.   She received the Crystal Apple Award for Exemplary Teachers that was presented to her by the Diocese of Cleveland, and a Golden Apple which was presented to her in the classroom by a local TV station.

She was an avid theater lover and frequently used theater and drama with her students. She also participated in community theater in Bedford, Solon and Independence with major roles in various productions.  She created a drama group called DARE (Drama And Religious Education) which was a group of teenagers that performed improvisation workshops all over the Catholic Diocese.  This group help shape religious values of the teen actors and those who watched and participated in the workshops. She also started a youth theater in Bedford.

During retirement, she resided at Emerald Village in North Olmsted.   She created a drama group with the residents and produced plays and musical productions. They loved being part of the productions, and their families enjoyed watching them, sometimes even SRO. She also taught art to the residents.  When she transitioned to Concord Lutheran, she was a member of the resident choir.

She was very dedicated to her family and cared for her mother until she passed. She was cherished by her sisters, Ann Marie Tahan (Fouad) and Nancy Fasham (Thomas) and her nephews, Peter and Matthew Tahan.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mildred Sesso.

The family would like to thank the dedicated nurses and aides that took care of Carol at Concord Lutheran Home, and those at St. John Westshore Intensive Care Unit. A special thank you to Dr. McConoughey at St. John Westshore Intensive Care for his kindness that made her transition easier for our family.

Carol had a great sense of humor and stayed cheerful despite suffering through multiple health problems that she bravely endured.

Our family is now left numb and lost with a giant void, but also with beautiful and happy memories, for which we are humbly grateful to God.

She loved sunflowers.  If you see a sunflower this summer, please remember Carol.
