CLIFFORD J. SCHMIDT, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2020. Devoted father of Jill Pompei (Ted), Daniel (Violeta Basic), Jennifer Gibbons (David) and Beth Jerdonek (Jeff).  Much-loved Grandpa Cliff of Jessica Ciborek (Benjamin), Ashley Grosel (Zachary), Andrew Pompei, Corey Schmidt (fiancee Amber Dzik), Patrick Gibbons (fiancee Taylor Turske), John Gibbons, Joseph Gibbons, Maddy Jerdonek, Jackson Jerdonek, Finley Jerdonek, Brooklyn Schmidt, Evan Ciborek and Frank Ciborek. Loving son of the late Corrine (nee Audie) and John Schmidt. Former spouse and dear lifelong friend of Susan (nee Vuolo). Beloved cousin and friend of many.

Cliff was a devoted member of the Cleveland Police Force until his retirement in 1993 and a proud graduate of John Marshall High School.  Cliff was active for many years in the Cleveland Police and Fire Anchor Club, where he enjoyed lifelong friendships.  Cliff's biggest passion was supporting his children and grandchildren as they competed in the sports they loved.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Mass Friday, October 30, Our Lady of Angels Church (3644 Rocky River Dr. ) at 11:30 AM. (face masks required).  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
