Born in Buffalo, moved to Chicago, then to Cleveland; apparently, she loved lake effect snow. Connie prayed for the right man and God sent her a fighting Marine via a blind date. After a brief courtship, they were separated by war, and after no contact for years, the Marine came home to stay. Connie and the Marine reconnected in January 1975 and were engaged in February with an intimate wedding in North Olmsted, Ohio in September of the same year.
Connie achieved her dream of becoming a mother when Randy, Becki, and Emily were born. She ran the household of 3 children with an iron fist. If she told Dad that the kids were misbehaving…well, we'll leave that part out. Connie was adamant that her greatest contribution to the world was her children (us kids agree…we're pretty great).
A woman of faith, Connie was a long-term parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and devoted to the Holy Trinity. That brings us to her infatuation with the number 3: the trinity, 3 children, and W. 133rd. With that said, let us end with 33 (the family number) words to describe our Connie:
Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, Confident, Companion, Creator, Author, Crafter, Gardener, Homemaker, Butterfly, Giver, Collector, Spender, Seamstress, Thinker, Comedian, Teacher, and Fighter who was Steadfast, Faithful, Loving, Stubborn, Blunt, Beautiful, Festive, Sassy, Loyal, let's not forget a Bland Cook (thanks Dad) and an okay cleaner (the Marine was better), and Butt-kicker (mostly Randy).
She may have been little, but she was fierce.
