DAVID C. MILLER, age 97, beloved husband for 74 years of Olivia M. (nee Stanford); father of Suki May-Miller; David Robert (Donna); Charles (Willette); granddaughter Tia; and grandson Ian.
David grew up in Aurora, IL. He graduated Ripon College, Ripon, WI, 1939. Army officer in World War II, stationed in England and France; working on the development of radar; had a part in the planning of Overlord, the invasion of Europe, D-Day; and was awarded two Bronze Stars. Earned a PhD in physics from Washington University, St. Louis, MO, 1945. Worked for the newly formed Defense Department. Executive in private industry with Philips Electronics North America and AMF. In education, his favorite vocation, David worked at the University of Montana, Brooklyn Polytech, the University of Illinois Chicago Circle and the University of North Carolina, Asheville. David retired 1994 and lived just west of Cleveland, OH. He was an avid student of the Bible and enjoyed working with his computer. An accomplishment of which he is very proud is the autobiography he co-wrote with Olivia. Memorial Service will be held at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 25200 Lorain Rd, North Olmsted, OH, Friday, July 8 at 9:30 AM followed by interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH , at 12:30 PM.
