David O’Brien, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by his family.

David was a kind and generous man who lived a life defined by service—to his family, his friends, and his country. After graduating from John Carroll University, where he was a proud member of the National Society of Pershing Rifles, Dave went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He continued that commitment through a long and successful career with the Department of Defense.

Dave found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved golfing and gardening, listening to Cleveland Indians games, and enjoying Irish music. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his warmth, and his devotion to those he loved.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Josephine O’Brien; his brothers, Richard and Gerald; and his beloved sister, Maureen.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy (Peitl) O’Brien; his children, Daniel (Eileen) O’Brien and Colleen Brochue (James); his nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
