DIANE R SKRLETTS (nee Pallay), 76 of Fairview Park passed peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, March 18 th . Diane was born on March 6 th , 1947 in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Steve and Mary (nee Lestock) Pallay.   Beloved wife of 56 years to Duane Skrletts and loving mother of Danyelle Anderson (Mike) and David Skrletts (Dawn).  The best grandmother in the world to Rachel (fiancée Jason Leathers) and Samantha Anderson and Isabella and Mikayla Skrletts.  Sister of MaryAnn Douglas (John) and the late Stephen Pallay (Jean)

Diane was a gentle and caring woman.  All that met her were touched by her kindness and generosity.  Diane was the manager of the Asian Wok Chinese Restaurant for 33 years. She made lifelong friends, touched many with her laughter and gift for conversation and had an extensive "restaurant family" that she loved dearly.

Diane was an exceptional baker and you knew you were special if she made you one of her famous nut rolls or cheesecakes.  She gifted countless tins of cookies at Christmas time and made many of her mother's Slovak recipes – passing her mother's recipes on to her family and friends.  She shared this love of her Slovak heritage and food with her siblings and children. These foods and traditions became the center of many great and lively gatherings – traditions that will be carried on to future generations in her honor.

Diane loved to travel both by motorcycle and RV.  Diane and Duane made many cross country trips, once traveling for 63 days by motorcycle to California and back (and all places in between!)  They shared a love of travel and made many interesting friends along the way.  They also enjoyed traveling with their local friends on those motorcycle trips, both near and far, and loved their time with this extended family.

Diane's extended family, especially her son in law and daughter in law, were very special to her.  We often laughed about how some people have it "rough" with their mother-in-law and how that just wasn't the case.  She felt strongly about being there as a second mom and loving them like her own children.  She had a special relationship with all of her "kids."

Diane loved, above all, making others happy.  She would relish entertaining and spending time with those she loved, and additionally, those she just met.  Her sense of humor and kind and gentle way charmed us all.  She was a beautiful soul and will be missed greatly.

Diane was diagnosed with Parkinson's and met that challenge with courage and grace.  She fought hard, and was an inspiration to us all.  She kept her incredible sense of humor through it all and even started boxing as therapy to help make her strong against this disease.  She amazed us all with her strength!

Diane will be missed by many.  Our family will never be the same, but we have all been blessed by the gift of her love and generosity.  If you were her friend, we want you to know she treasured you and loved you.  Internment and a celebration of Diane's life will follow at a later date.  If you would like to honor her memory, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
