DONALD LEO BURKE, age 91, born October 28, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully September 21, 2024, in Westlake, Ohio. He is survived by Cheryl (née Fraunfelder), his beloved wife of 38 years. He was the loved and admired father to Terri, Vicki (Eric), Lori (deceased), and Mike (Therese). He was the wonderful step-father to Ryan, Evan (Megan), and Drew (Christa). He was Grandpa to many more: Ben (Jess), Andy (Katrina), Caleb (Amber), Tim, Jake, Charlie, Rachel, Billy, Russ (Lisa), Eric, Julie, Amy (Chase), Kelli (Tom), Keegan, Landon, Jonah, Emery, Rhys, and Nora.

He was Great Grandfather to Brianna, Ryan, Cory, Andie, Owen, Emma, Logan, Jakob, Everly, Crew, Burkely, and Chloe. Brother of Brian (Kay). Preceded in death by Mother, Cecilia, brothers Leo (Lynne), Richie, Alan, and sister Barbara. Beloved Uncle, Great Uncle, and friend to many.

Don had a Master's Degree, played football, basketball and track at Kent State University where he set a school record for pole vaulting. He was also an assistant Coach for KSU football as a Grad Student. He played preseason football for the Baltimore Colts where he was a rookie with Johnny Unitas.  Don was a teacher and coach at John Marshall High School and Lorain Community College. He enjoyed golf and fishing.
