DOROTHY VERONICA BARNES (nee Wolfe), age 77. Beloved mother of Joanna Laughlin (Ron), Jeff (Suzanne), John (Lisa) and Jaime Cleary (Tom); grandmother of Rebecca, Caitlyn, Corey, Andrew, Frances, Alex, Maggie, Erika, Brian, Colin, Marian, Ayden, Darrin, Doug and Shannon; great-grandmother of Logan and Ryan; sister of Daniel and Anthony. Passed away November 22, 2014. Dorothy was born August 31, 1937 and graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School in 1956. That same year she met Thomas George Barnes whom she married in 1959. She worked as a medical secretary and retired from Fairview Hospital in 1999. An irreplaceable cook and movie buff, Dorothy's favorite pastimes were gardening, antique collecting and family. A true Cleveland sports fan she unfailingly supported the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes. She was an avid fan of all her children's and granchildren's extracurricular activities. Dorothy has been an active member of the Red Hat Society for many years, where her dynamic fashion sense shone brightly. She enjoyed socializing at luncheons and activities at the North Olmsted Senior Center. No holiday was complete without her, and whoever was with her on Thanksgiving or Christmas felt like they were at home. It is impossible to sum up a person's life in one paragraph, but if you had to take away a message from Dorothy it would be to always love and appreciate each other.
