EDMOND E. BOURGEIX, age 96, beloved husband of the late Violette (nee Soumakian); loving father of Pierre (Teri); proud Grand-père of André, Juliette, Lauren and Morgan; brother of the late Alexander Bourgeix; uncle and great-uncle of many, passed away July 5, 2024.
Edmond was born in Antibes, France on October 6, 1927. In his early twenties he served as part of the 10th paratroop division after WWIl. He was educated at Ecole Hôtelière de Paris. In the mid 50's he left France and moved to the United States settling in Hollywood, Ca. Owned and operated New Orleans restaurant and was Maître d' at several restaurants including MaMaison, Le Petit Chateau, Windjammer in Marina del Rey, and Le Manoir. He was an Executive dining manager for CalFed headquarters until he retired.
Edmond was a proud Frenchman and loved sharing stories about his time growing up in France. He enjoyed music, cooking, reading from his extensive book collection, poetry, French cuisine, red wine, and an occasional trip to the casino. He also enjoyed watching the French professional soccer club.
Edmond was predeceased by his Wife Violette Bourgeix, mother Antonine Eremenkoff, father Eugene Bourgeix, and brother Alexander Bourgeix
All Services and interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.
