EDWIN "ED" DILLEHAY, 89, of North Ridgeville, Oh, left this world peacefully while at home March 31, 2023 after a brief illness. Ed was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and veteran.

Ed is survived by his wife Karen (nee Pace), father of  Mike (Janet), Mark (Linda), and Dave (Shelley); step-father of Bob Pace(Ann Marie), Michael Pace (Katie), and Jim Pace (Julie); grandfather of Jenn (Mike), Tim (Raechel), Zoe, Andy, Marilyn, Olivia, Evelyn and the late Zachary; great-grandfather of Callie, Ben, and Kainan; brother-in-law of  Denton Hemphil (Teresa); son of the late Juanita and Lawrence.

Born in Newcomerstown, Oh, Ed joined the Navy in May 1952 after graduating high school. Ed was stationed in Japan during the Korean War and served honorably through 1956 when he returned to Ohio and transitioned to the reserves until 1960. It was during this time when Ed found his calling and became a pioneer in the early days of the computer industry by working side by side with his father Lawrence at the W Bingham Co, one of the Midwest's largest hardware suppliers where he computerized the company's catalog. Continuing his journey in the computer industry, Ed worked at the Cleveland Clinic as the IT Director for Business until he left to start his own IT consulting firm.

In 2000, after 15 years as a successful entrepreneur, Ed called it a career, but never slowed down. An avid gardener, fisherman, modeler, ham radio operator, and camping enthusiast, Ed kept his days busy. In his later years, Ed took to traveling all over the country visiting family in Tennessee, and Florida, as well as going to Chincoteague, VA for the wild horses.

Funeral Service Wednesday, April 5, Fields United Methodist Church (34077 Lorain Rd. N. Ridgeville) at 1:00 PM. where friends may call from 11:30 AM. UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
