ELIZABETH "BETTY" ANN GORTZ (nee Kossin), age 75, was born February 21, 1945.  She passed away peacefully early on the morning of Saturday, January 16, 2021.  Mom never could let her children get those last few minutes of sleep.

March 2, 1963 and again in 1988 Betty married Edward Joseph Gortz, who passed in 2003.  Once was not enough for the two of them, and now they are together forever.  Betty was the proud mom of four children, Constance (Gerry) Dippel, Timothy (Kellee), Tamara (Douglas) Runyon and Curtis Gortz.  The family tree grew with the addition of 18 grandchildren:  Adam, Andrew, Sarah, Allison, Morgan, Kayla, Zachary, Aaron, Jeremy, Kira, Shannon, Sharon, Mackenzie, Kaden, Karyssa, Myah, Zane and Hailey.  Betty's family continues to grow with the addition five great-grandchildren:  Emma, Jonah, Walker, Kiernan and Isla.

Betty was the youngest of three daughters born to the late George and Joann (nee Sullivan) Kossin.  Her sisters Noreen Squires and Lois Kubishke blessed Betty with fourteen nieces and nephews whom she loved.  Noreen entered heaven in 2007 and she has been very busy, praying.  Meanwhile in Huron, OH Lois is busy keeping everyone on their toes.

Cooking great food in large quantities was a breeze for Betty who worked as a cook and once owned a private catering company.  She was employed for 30 years as a banquet server at the Cleveland Airport Marriott.  Guests appreciated Betty's attention to detail.   Coworkers considered themselves fortunate because Betty would lighten their work load while entertaining them with her words of wisdom.
