"Betty" Ehrbar
August 14, 1932 – April 4, 2021
ELIZABETH C. "BETTY" EHRBAR (nee Dorsey), age 88, was born in Cleveland and attended St. Patrick's School West Park and Lourdes Academy. Betty married William "Bill" Ehrbar in 1954 and had four children. Betty was a registered nurse and worked at Lakewood, St. Luke's and Deaconess Hospitals during her career. She was a graduate of Malone College and valued the importance of education, which she instilled in her children and grandchildren. In later years, she worked for Medical Mutual of Ohio until her retirement. Betty served on the retirement board for Medical Mutual for many years, enjoyed giving of her time through many charitable organizations, including the West Side Catholic Center, St. John's Medical Center and St. Malachi. Betty was an active member of St. Bernadette Parish in Westlake, Ohio where she served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. She enjoyed golf, travel, and knitting, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty passed away surrounded by family Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband William N. "Bill" Ehrbar. She is survived by her loving children Joseph (Joanie), Jane Simon (Phil), Jeffrey (Diane Singer), and Jill Lanning (Gerald); the proud grandmother of Philip Simon (Abby), Kevin Simon, Lizzie Simon, Maddy Lanning (Jess), Emily Lanning, Amanda Flanagan (Kevin), Billy Ehrbar, Grace Ehrbar, John Ehrbar, Mary Webb (Ben), and Eli Ehrbar; the great-grandmother of four; sister of Judy Henderson (Rich), Mary Jo Porach, Julie Stockhausen (Bill), Joseph Dorsey (Karen), the late Roger Dorsey, Robert Dorsey (Martha) and Timothy Dorsey; aunt and great-aunt of many. Funeral Mass Saturday, April 10, St. Bernadette Church (2256 Clague Rd., Westlake) at 10 A.M. Interment will be private. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR. AT PURITAS, SATURDAY 8:30 A.M. TO 9:30 A.M. (please observe all Covid-19 safety guidelines). Memorial contributions are suggested to the West Side Catholic Center, 3135 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113.
