ELLEN RUTH (McGUNAGLE) MEYER (nee Connors), age 73, passed away at her home on March 15, 2018 surrounded by her loving friends and family.  Ellen was born June 2, 1944 in Cleveland where she attended OLA grade school and St. Joseph Academy.  Ellen was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She loved bringing joy to others especially her grandchildren.  Ellen was most proud of blending two families into one, a task for only the strong-hearted.  Some of her children's friends still called her "Mrs. McGoo."  Preceding her in death are her parents Eleinor (nee Martin) and Russell Connors; husband Dennis McGunagle; son Brian "McGoo"; father-in-law "Bompa" McGunagle; sisters Carol, Linda Carlin; brother Russ; and brothers-in-law Denny Carlin and Carl Maldonado.  She is survived by her husband, Gene, and their children Eileen McGunagle (Matt Heschel), Katie Cook (Patrick), Beth Ritt (Michael), Mary Jo Franke (Paul), Kim McCue (Brian), Charlie Meyer (Becky), Timothy Meyer, Kevin Meyer (Michelle), and Wendy Mastromatteo (Lou); grandchildren Hannah, Hallie, Annie, Grace, Abby, Nora, Kayleigh, Kendall, Bridget, Gabby, Molly, Will, Sarah, Paul, Dennis, Lucy, Jane, Evelyn, Kyle, Luke and Hope; brother Tim Connors (Karen); sister Maureen Maldonado; and sister-in-law Patty Connors.  Funeral Mass Tuesday, March 20, Holy Trinity Church (33601 Detroit Rd., Avon) at 11 A.M.  Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., MONDAY 4-8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, OH  44107 in memory of Denny and Brian McGunagle.
