ELLEN L. MURPHY (nee Brennan), age 87.  Loving daughter of the late Julia Brennan; former wife of the late Jack Murphy; cherished mother of Joan King (Michael) (both deceased), Dennis Murphy (Janice), John Murphy (Deborah, deceased), Kathleen Letner (Fred), and Rita Fritz (Bryan); cherished grandmother of Kelly Hurley (Scott), Erin King (David Sabol), Daniel, Jennifer Feagan (Glenn), Kerri, Kevin (Katy), Rachel Ligman (Dan), Sarah (Mark Oles, fiancé), Ryan, Brian (Hayley), Matthew, Michael, John, and Julie; loving great-grandmother to Roger, Clare, Emily, Louisa, Jacob, Emily, Joseph, Lauren, Annabelle, Charles, Macsen, Emersyn, and Colin; loving sister of Mary T. Fratoe (Joseph) (both deceased); and adored aunt of Mary Kay, Joseph, and Julie Ann Fratoe; great-aunt of Mollie Fratoe; sister-in-law of Sr. Annamae Murphy, SND; mother-in-law of Kathy Murphy (nee McKay); aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and devoted friend of many. Ellen grew up on the east side of Cleveland where she had a wonderful childhood with her mother, sister and a wealth of friends from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. She cherished those friendships throughout her life. She wouldn't have traded a minute of her childhood for anything. She was a proud graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas and Notre Dame Academy (1949). She married Jack Murphy in 1951 and together they raised their children in Lakewood. Later, Ellen was married to Bill Mullee, until he passed away. Ellen was funny, strong, hard working, loving, kind, and beautiful inside and out. Her life was a great gift to all who knew her. Passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at home with her family. Funeral Mass Saturday, April 14, St. Angela Merici Church (20970 Lorain Rd.) at 11:30 A.M.  Private burial Holy Cross Cemetery. The family respectfully requests no flowers.  Per Ellen's wishes, memorial donations in her name to St. Thomas Aquinas School, 9101 Superior Ave., Cleveland, Ohio, 44106 would be appreciated.
