ERNA SCHOLTZ (nee Simonis), age 81, passed away at her home January 1, 2011. She was born in Cleveland on May 24, 1929 to John and Katharina Simonis. Beloved wife of the late Ewald; sister of Dorothy Titsch (Frank) (both deceased), Betty Dickey (John), Hermine Jindra (Carl) (both deceased) and Helmut Simonis (Arla); aunt and great aunt of many. She was a long-time member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Cleveland, a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and a former artist for American Greetings. Erna was compassionate and a dear friend to many. She enjoyed nature, traveling, baking, gardening and singing with the Eintracht-Saxonia Sachsenchor. Funeral Service Friday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR. AT PURITAS, where friends may call THURSDAY 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
