ERNEST E. "ERNIE" PETO, age 83; beloved husband of Carol (nee Jankowski); loving father of Jeff (Dave), Jim (Diana), Sharon Caroscio (Joe), Susan Starkey (Brian) and Christine Wright (John); proud grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of 5; brother of Joyce Nicholas (Deno) and Elizabeth Schaaf; uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Navy veteran. Ernie was a self-employed small business owner in Cleveland. In 1969, he was a founding member of the Cleveland Darter Club. He played and coached softball in the Huff-N-Puffers league for many years, was an avid golfer and loved fishing. He truly had a passion for all sports. Ernie had an appreciation for the outdoors. Recently, he and Carol moved into their new home in Olmsted Falls. In his last days, he was able to be home and take in the beautiful view of the river he so loved. Passed away at home November 27, 2021. Funeral Service Thursday, December 2, at 10 A.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DRIVE AT PURITAS where friends may call WEDNESDAY 4-7 P.M.
