ERWIN J. ANGALA, age 48. Beloved husband of 18 years to Cortney (nee Hlynosky); father of Penelope and Pablo; son of Esther and the late Pablo Angala; brother of Michael (Ingrid); son-in-law of Patricia and the late John Hlynosky; brother-in-law of Brian, Holly and Neal; uncle and friend of many.

Erwin was born in Quezon City, Philippines. At the age of 5 his family immigrated to the United States, settling in Cleveland, Ohio. Erwin attended high school at St. Edward, graduating class of 1991. He then furthered his education at the Cleveland Institute of Art, graduating in 2000 with a bachelors degree in Industrial Design. After graduation, Erwin and Cortney moved to Michigan to began his career as an automotive designer at General Motors. Over the next few years they were married, bought their home and welcomed their two wonderful children. Erwin made an impact on every person he met, to know him was to love him. He enjoyed many hobbies including classic cars, photography, tattooing, attending punk rock shows, competitive shooting and spoiling his kids. This is such a tremendous loss, he was an absolutely amazing husband, father and friend. Please keep his memory alive by sharing stories of the big guy with the big heart.

Passed away February 23, 2022. Funeral Mass Monday, February 28, St. Patrick Church (West Park) at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR. AT PURITAS SUNDAY 1-5 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Penelope and Pablo Angala Educational Fund would be appreciated.
