Rosemary English (DeWalt), 95, of Rocky River, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, with her family by her side. Born to the late Walter and Mary (nee Hart) DeWalt, April 1, 1931, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, and sister of the late Rev. Msgr. Homer DeWalt and the late Walter DeWalt.

Beloved wife of 75 years to Robert English and loving mother of Mark (Gayle) of Fairview Park, Ohio, Timothy of Woodstock, Georgia, Philip (Lindsay) of Westlake, Ohio, Mary Eileen of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, Teresa Luciano of Beaverton, Oregon, and Thomas of Fairlawn, Ohio. Much loved grandmother of Matthew, Sarah, Paul (Katie), Robert, David, Marianne Spoon (Brandon), Catherine Thomas (Joshua), Laura McClain (Michael), Andrew (Alexandra), Mary Kate, Mary Rose Strickland (Greg), Michael, Thomas (Madison), Anne Luciano (Cambria), Elizabeth Morizzo (James), Stephen and Michael, and twenty great-grandchildren. Daughter-in-law of the late Madeline (nee Karg) and Cletus English; sister-in-law of Marjorie Tempest (deceased), Mary Beth Wager, Jeanne English, Gerald English (deceased), Patricia Powers (deceased) Donald English (deceased), David English (deceased), Barb Calka and James English. Beloved aunt and great-aunt of many.

A resident of Rocky River for 58 years, Rosemary was active in the Mothers Club of Saint Angela Merici School, Saint Edward High School and Magnificat High School, the Couples Club of Saint Angela Merici and was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She was a long time and active member of the Christ Child Society, the Altar and Rosary Society of Saint Angela Merici, the National Council of Catholic Women of the Diocese of Cleveland and served as Eucharistic Minister at St Angela Merici and Fairview Hospital. She was a golf enthusiast and enjoyed bridge and watching Cleveland Guardians baseball.

Rosemary will be remembered by her family and friends as caring, compassionate and devoted to her faith, who generously and selflessly loved her family. All who came into contact with her were touched by her smile and kindness.

Special appreciation to the entire staff at Ennis Court of Lakewood, Ohio, for their loving care of Rosemary and her family.

Funeral mass Saturday, April 11, Saint Angela Merici Church, 20970 Lorain Road, Fairview Park at 10:00 AM. Interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Avon, Ohio. Friends may call at Chambers Funeral Home of North Olmsted, 29150 Lorain Road at Stearns Road, Friday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Guardian Angel Fund at Saint Angela Merici Church or to Saint Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107.
