"Frank" Hastings
January 16, 1946 – December 24, 2024
FRANCIS J. "FRANK" HASTINGS, age 78, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away late on Christmas Eve after being surrounded by family and friends. He was born in East Cleveland on January 16, 1946 to the late Thomas and Nora (nee Conway) Hastings. He attended Shaw High School and spent most of his career in construction including the pride of running his very own F. Hastings Construction.
Beloved husband of JoLynn (nee Mandanici) Hastings; father of Pat Hastings-Kuglin and Brian (Sharon) Hastings; Dad to Stephanie Phinizee; grandfather of Erin (Brian) Raymont, Jarrod Kuglin, Gabrielle Hastings (Alex Davis), Colin (Jessica) Kuglin, Joe Hastings, and Anne Hastings; great-grandfather of Jenna, Ellenora, and Benjamin Raymont; brother of Mary McCluskey, Tom Hastings, and Norine Hastings. He is survived by his immediate family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and cherished friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, son-in-law Pete Kuglin, brother-in-law Joseph Mc Cluskey, nephew Kevin McCluskey, nephew-by-marriage Bud Leonard, grandson Marcus Phinizee, and many other family and friends.
Frank was a wonderful father and grandfather, and a father figure to many others. He was fun, positive and encouraging, and he always had your back. He was an incredible man with a kind heart. He was also a kid at heart and was known for his signature laugh. He loved his God and his family. He loved his siblings and their celebration of their Irish heritage. He knew how to fix anything (and probably had the tool for it). He always led singing of "Happy Birthday" at parties, even his own. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and especially loyal to his beloved Cleveland Browns.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet for his Funeral Mass Tuesday, December 31, St. Mary Church (250 Kraft St. Berea) at 11:30 A.M.
