FRANK S. MERK, age 80, beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia (nee Gallagher); loving father of Erin Russo (Tim) of Boston, MA and Tressa Merk; cherished Papa of Jenna and Brendan Merk and Joseph and Liam Russo; beloved uncle, great-uncle and dear friend of many.  Frank retired after many years of service as an electrician with the UAW.  Passed away June 20, 2024 with his wife, Patricia, by his side.  Funeral Mass Monday, June 24, St. Ambrose Church (929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick) at 10 A.M. After graduating from John Hay High School in Cleveland, Ohio he then moved to Parma Heights. Frank followed in his father's footsteps as an electrician. He also was always looking to gain new skills and pass them on to his children and grandchildren. His strong work ethic and tenacity were greatly admired. With a smile on his face, Frank always took the time to teach, share, or offer help with his family, friends, and neighbors.

His passions were many, including exploring the outdoors, whether it was bike riding or hiking in the Metroparks, camping, fishing, or gardening. He loved to cook and use the fruits of his labor from his carefully tended garden. He loved being with his friends, going to the Brunswick Recreation Center bright and early, enjoying a good breakfast, or watching his favorite Cleveland Sports teams, especially the Cleveland Browns.

Frank's beloved kind and gentle nature, with others and animals, was evident in his life daily. The family dogs were excited when Papa rolled into town to walk them to the beach. He brought so much joy to his daughters, wife, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their children. Frank's presence will be sorely missed by many.
