FRANK ANTHONY ZELKO, age 88, of Cleveland, OH, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2017. He will join in heaven his beloved wife, Connie (nee Turk), who preceded him in death. Frank was born of Stephen and Jennie Zelko in Cleveland, OH and grew up in the Slovenian neighborhood surrounding St. Vitus parish. He graduated from East Technical High School, served in the U.S. Air Force with the Hurricane Hunters, and greatly enjoyed a long career at NASA's Lewis Research Center (now Glenn Research Center) in Cleveland, where his colleagues became close friends. He was a devoted member and supporter of both St. Vitus and St. Patrick W.P. parish, where he and Connie raised their family. Frank was a happy man with a kind and generous spirit. He was always willing to help those in need, especially those down on their luck. His family and friends meant everything to him. He was a proud and loving father and grandfather, always eager to treat his grandchildren or take them fishing in the Rocky River Valley. He is survived by his children Frankie (Maria), Connie Sheehan (Bill), Tim (Nancy), and Michele; his grandchildren Erica, Billy, Andrea, Paul, Stephen, Amy Faul (Chris), Elizabeth, and Michael; his brother Stephen; his sisters-in-law Helen and Joanie; his brother-in-law Dickie; and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Funeral Mass Saturday, September 2, St. Vitus Church (6019 Lausche Ave., Cleveland) at 10 A.M. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., FRIDAY 5-8 P.M. For those who wish to leave a remembrance, a donation may be made in Frank's name to Holy Family Home, 6707 State Rd, Parma, OH 44134.
