IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary L.
Bowen
April 8, 1946 – April 14, 2024
GARY LEE BOWEN, 78, of Cleveland, Ohio, died at his home on April 14, 2024.
He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1946 to parents Robert and Wanda Jean Bowen.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Jean (Newman), and his son John Cristopher Bowen. He is survived by his father Robert, daughters Holly Bowen and Amber (Steven) Koszewski, sons Eric Bowen and Kevin (Tiffany) Bowen, grandchildren Kaden and Karsyn Bowen, Kellin (Nicholas) Teaford, and great grandchildren Rosalie and Reyna.
A skilled architect and craftsman, Gary enjoyed working with his hands, devoting time to leaving homes more beautiful than he found them. He was enamored with technology and always wanted to understand how things worked, which led to projects like fixing cars and building computers or guitars from scratch. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Erie with friends and family, grilling, dad jokes, the latest blue ray, catching a ball game, and being with his children. National Lampoon also deserves an honorable mention.
Gary currently worked at Day & Zimmerman as a Radiation Protection Supervisor, and worked in Health Physics for over 35 years. He was passionate about his work and beloved by his coworkers. They described him as a great supervisor, a gentleman, and dear friend, as well as a practical jokester bringing smiles to every job site. He will be sorely missed.
