July 19, 1964 – December 6, 2021
Master Sargent, Gary Thomas Sindelar, age 57, passed away December 6, 2021 after complications from Covid-19. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Amy Sindelar (Adler); father-in-law Rick Adler (Sharon); mother-in law, Carol Maser-Johnson ( Brian); and brother-in-law, Matthew Adler (Danielle). Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sindelar (Larsen) and his father, Edward Sindelar. Gary's siblings are: Debbie Ashby (John); Janet Wagner (Larry); Randy Sindelar (Lynn); and Edward Sindelar. Gary has many nieces and nephews who will now have him as their guardian angel.
Gary proudly served in the United States Army and the Reserves for 32 years. He was deployed four times to the Middle East to fight terrorism in two different wars to protect and defend the country that he so deeply loved. Gary earned the following citations during his time in military service: 3 Army Commendation Medals, 5 Army Achievement Medals, The Meritorious Service Medal, The Kuwait/Iraq/Afghanistan Campaign Medals, and The Humanitarian Service and NATO Medals. Gary was loved and respected by all of the men and women he proudly served with in the United States Army.
Gary attended Fairview High School and graduated in 1982. He attended Cleveland State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Gary was such a kind, gentle soul, who would help anyone. He would give you the shirt off his back. He will be deeply missed by all.
Gary was cremated after his death. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, memorial services will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. Memorial contributions in memory of Gary can be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Wounded Warrior Project, two organizations that Gary tirelessly supported.
