JACK L. COGAR, age 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Columbia Station, on Aug. 27. Jack was the beloved husband of 39 years to Margaret (nee Blaseg); loving father to Jamie Bescak (Steve), Jimmy and Anthony (Claire); and cherished grandfather to Elle Bescak and Ethan Cogar. He was born Sept. 19, 1950 the third of eight children to James and Mary Cogar.
Jack was a veteran of the Army, proudly served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Commendation Medal for Heroism. When he returned he worked for Pennsylvania Truck Lines for 20 years. He became a Teamster Union Steward at the age of 25 which he served as for more than 20 years. He then worked for K & T Switching until he retired.
Jack enjoyed tinkering in his building, attending a good auction or flea market to find a good deal on a piece that he just had to have. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Jack and Marge visited Phoenix, Arizona often to spend time with their daughter (Jamie), son-in-law (Steve) and granddaughter (Elle). Jack attended many tractor shows over the years with his sons Jimmy and Anthony and now his grandson Ethan. Everyone in town knew where they could find Jack every weekend. He spent hundreds of hours in his building working on projects, fixing mowers and basically anything that had a motor.
Devoted to his wife, children, family and friends, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
