JAMES A. BAILEY of Olmsted Twp., Ohio, formerly of North Olmsted, passed away on March 19, 2018 at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of Janet (nee Mueller) and the late Joyce (nee McGrew); cherished father of Pamela Drottar (Dale), James W. (Edie), Anita and William; dearest grandfather of Kimberly Hayes (Edward), Kelly White (Mark), Kaitlyn Voelker (Jake), Erin Bailey, Erica Chrysanthus (Jay), Ryan Bailey (deceased), Bianka and Celestial Bailey; and great-grandfather of 9.

James was born on December 25, 1925 in Rockford, Alabama to Mildred (nee Penton) and Warren C. Bailey (both deceased). He was a loving brother to his twin William Donald and older brother Hanson (both deceased).

James was a WWII U.S. Marine Corp Veteran who served on the INVASION OF OKINAWA. He is a life member of North Olmsted Post 7647 where Commander Chris Zurawski honored him as Veteran of the Year 2016. He is past Grand Knight of North Olmsted K of C Council 4731 where he was Knight of the Year in 1993, a former District Deputy #17 of the Ohio Council of the Knights of Columbus and was the VA Chairman Cleveland-West at the Brecksville VA Hospital Christmas Gift Shop. The Greater Cleveland Chapter of the Knights of Columbus honored him in 2001 as Knight of the Year. James is also a 4 th Degree Knight of the Bishop O'Reilly Assembly.

James is a long time proud parishioner of St. Clarence Church in North Olmsted and volunteered with his wife Janet to collect pledges for Fr. Tom Flynn to build the church. He served as usher for years until his health started to go down.

During his time in North Olmsted, James worked with Mayor Ralph Christman on the Recreation Committee to build the Rec Center. The developer of Bretton Ridge subdivision put him in charge of building up the park and managing the pool.

Jim is a retired Glazier of Local Union 181 where he served as their Business Manager for a short time. While working with the tools, he left his mark all over Downtown Cleveland and in North Olmsted on the Mall, Corporate Center, Tech Center, strip stores and car dealerships.

James will be greatly missed by many.

Memorial Mass Friday, March 23, 2018, the Church of St. Clarence (30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted) at 10 A.M. where friends may call ONE HOUR PRIOR TO MASS. Inurnment private at Sunset Memorial Park.
