JAMES ALBERT MESAROS, aged 84, of Westlake, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 18, 2026. Born on March 17, 1942, to parents Bernard (Barney) and Ida (Funk) Mesaros. Jim was a devoted family man who cherished his time with loved ones and his close friends.

He was a graduate of Westlake High School’s class of 1960 where he thrived as a Baseball and Basketball player, but more importantly where he met his high-school sweetheart. On March 31st, 1962, he married the love of his life, Kaye (Kavanaugh) Mesaros, and together they built a beautiful life together filled with love and hard work, while raising four devoted children.

Kaye and Jim had recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. He was a proud father to his four children: Michael (Lucy), Jamey (Lisa), Priscilla Jarachovic (Dan), and Tim (Judy). He was further blessed with six grandchildren: Abigail, Jacquelyn, Kate, Elise, Noah, and Maeve, who brought him endless joy.

His early career began working with his father at their greenhouse on Schaaf Rd. known as “B. Mesaros and Son Greenhouse”. He then went on to have a long and satisfying career as an Overhead Lineman and Supervisor at C.E.I. for 37 years. His strong work ethic and pride in a job well done were foundational to his existence and he worked tirelessly to ensure these principles were passed onto those he worked with and his children.

Jim will be remembered for his quick wit, funny “one-liners” and his passion for working on and restoring his classic cars and also loved landscaping his yard. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at Chambers Funeral Home, 29150 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio
