JAMES C. WHELPLEY, age 82.  Beloved husband of Kathleen C. (nee Gallagher); loving father of James (Lynne Ann), Michael, Mary Herrmann (Eric), Thomas (Amelie) and Patrick; grandfather of Eric, Brian, Michael, Kathleen, Kelly and Holden; brother of the late Daniel, Kathy Albertson, Larry and Clifford; uncle of many.  Proudly served six years in the U.S. Navy Reserves.  Retired from the Cleveland Plain Dealer after 43 years of employment. Passed away July 13, 2018.  Funeral Mass Tuesday, July 24, St. Patrick Church (West Park) at 10 A.M.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR.
