JAMES B. WHITE, age 81, beloved husband of 56 years to Jo Ann (nee Azok), loving father of Jim White and Julie Everson (Todd) and grandfather of Sydney Everson.  Passed away January 10, 2020.

As a child, he sang solos in the Bellvue Presbyterian Church Choir and was invited to join the Columbus Boy Choir which afforded him the opportunity to sing at the ampitheater at Chautauqua, New York.  He excelled in tennis on tennis courts around the Vermilion and Sandusky areas.

He served as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Having attended Parma High School and Miami University, he was an executive for Cleveland Express Trucking Company and was well known in the trucking industry.  Honored for his "outstanding service" to the Cleveland Trucking Association as president from 1991 to 1992, he was the Member of the Year from 1995 to 1996 for his "invaluable and devoted service."

He was a member of Spring Valley Country Club in Elyria where he served as president and scored a hole-in-one.  He later became of member of Avon Oaks Country Club.  His love of golf and other sports, both as a player and spectator, gave him great joy as did his family.

Retiring in 2000, he and Jo Ann bought a home in Naples, Florida and were members of The Strand Country Club.

After suffering from Alzheimer's disease for over fifteen years, spending five years in nursing homes, namely Arden Courts followed by St. Mary of the Woods, his brain was donated for research to University Hospitals Brain Health Center.

Memorial Service Saturday, February 1, in the Chapel at St. Mary of the Woods (35755 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH  44011) at 2 P.M. where friends may call one hour prior to service.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 23215 Commerce Park - #300, Beachwood, OH  44122 or Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd, - #270, Valley View, OH 44125.
