JANE MARIE FLAHERTY, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Strongsville Wednesday morning July 11th surrounded by her family.
Jane was born February 12, 1925 in Latrobe Pennsylvania a daughter of Frank and Anna Bravis. Jane lived and spent most of her life in Berea, Ohio.
She graduated from St. Johns Nursing School and worked many years as a head nurse of pediatrics at Berea Hospital until she devoted her life to her 8 children and numerous extended family. She was an honorary life member of the Ohio Congress of Parents and Teachers and was a long standing parishioner at St Adalbert Church. Her home was conveniently located in back of the parish. The proximity was both convenient for her and her family to attend mass. She often celebrated many occassions by preparing meals for family, many friends, neighbors, the parish priest and nuns.
She enjoyed, reading, cooking, gardening, and cheered endlessly for the Browns and Indians. Her garden was famous for its bountiful fruits and vegetables that she shared with many. She volunteered with special need students at Loomis Elementary School and her passion was her faith, family, and her gardens.
The 87 year legacy will be survived by her loving family.

Mike (Anne) Brian , Marty( Jen), Mark ,Tim (Julie).
Grandchildren; Crystal ( Martin) Malin, Scott Hofmann
Great grandchildren; Anna and Ellie Malin.
Jane will be holding hands again in heaven with Pat Flaherty (husband), Ryan Hofmann (grandson), Lucas Malin (great grandson) and Frank Bravis (brother).
The family will receive friends and family at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME 86 ADALBERT ST. BEREA (ONE BLOCK NORTH OF BAGLEY OFF FRONT ST.) SUNDAY 2-6 PM. Funeral Mass Monday July 16, St. Adalbert Church at 10:00 AM. Interment Woodvale Cemetery. The family would like to thank Diane and Terri for all of their loving care kindly given to Jane. The family also extends their thanks to the Hospice nurses, assistants, and friends who helped support Jane and requests in lieu of flowers that all donations be sent to Hospice Services of Southwest General for Hospice Nurses Education Fund, 18659 Drake Road, Strongsville Ohio 44136
