JEAN F. CHOKAN (nee Szudy), age 96, beloved wife of the late Elmer; loving mother of Marc (deceased), Eric (Debbie), Gerard (Beth), Jeannine Pudwill (Tim), Cynthia Kaczmarczyk (Terry), Tricia, James (Kelley), and Robin; stepmother of Robert and the late Greg; dearly beloved grandmother of 18; great-grandmother of 4; sister of 10 and aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Jean was a devout Catholic whose active life, passions, and associations included the Parish Ladies Guild, National Council of Catholic Women, St. Edward Mothers' Club (leader and member), presiding judge for her Local Election Ward, church choir veteran, and scouting leader.  She was a lifelong fan of the Tribe and Cleveland and family teams.  Jean met Elmer as a secretary in his engineering office.  They were married 54 years and guided and inspired their family of 10 children in education, music, sports and their strong religious faith.  Jean's daily pursuits were centered around family, faith, fun, love, and forgiveness. Passed away January 26, 2021 just shy of her 97 ^th birthday.  Funeral Mass Saturday, January 30, The Church of St. Clarence (30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted) at 11 A.M. (facemasks required).  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., FRIDAY 2-5 P.M. where social distancing will be observed and facemasks required.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Joseph Academy, 3470 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland, OH 44111 or St. Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107 would be appreciated.
