JEAN KARLA KOZELL-BURTON (nee Lindquist), age 83, passed away March 4, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Charles W. Burton. Loving mother of Philip C. Kozell (Denise). Proud grandmother to Bryce, Braeden, and MacKenzie. Sister of Joan Percent (deceased) and Susan Benson (Geoffrey), Aunt to Karla Szekely (Frank), Charlie Percent, Jennifer Bordelon (Chris), Geoffrey Benson (Raquel).

Great Aunt to Lauren Szekely, Sarah Case (Michael), Cole Bordelon (Maddisen), Dylan Bordelon, Kailea Benson, Vonn Benson. Great, great aunt to Scotty Case, Finley, Beckham, and Kloe Bordelon. Cousin to Trent Longo (Kathy).

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in February of 1942 with her twin sister Joan to Harold and Elizabeth Lindquist. Graduated from Cleveland Heights High in 1960. She then went to Dyke Business College for accounting.

Jean married her first husband, Charles A. Kozell, in 1965. They subsequently went to West Germany for his time in the US Air Force. She worked for the US Government while living in West Germany in the late 1960's.

After coming back to the United States in 1970 she continued working in accounting and started her career at Ohio Bronze Powder. There she met her second husband, Charles W. Burton, whom she married in 1995 until his death on January 20, 2025. Through their union, Jean gained seven more children, Sue, Henry, Scott (Yvonne), Kathleen, Steven, Maureen, and Jeffrey (Mary). During this time, she pursued her Bachelor's in Accounting at Notre Dame College receiving her Bachelors in 2000. She worked for various companies on the east side of Cleveland until her retirement at age 76.

Funeral Service Saturday, March 15, Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum at All Souls Cemetery (10366 Chardon Rd., Chardon, OH 44024) at 10:30 AM. Burial immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
