IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean Lillian
Pauley
February 8, 1945 – October 13, 2021
JEAN LILLIAN PAULEY (nee Fretter) age 76. Passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Beloved wife of 54 years to Quincey; mother of Kyra Robertson (Harley), Donald and the late Timothy; grandmother of Kristen Schremm (Michael Wright); daughter of the late Beatrice (nee Klaehn) and Edward Fretter; sister of Janet Krofta (Larry) and Howard (Sandy); cousin of Judy Dunham (Butch) (both deceased); godmother of Daniel Dunham; aunt and friend of many.
Jean was born in 1945 and grew up in Parma, Ohio. Her father was a veteran and her mother was a homemaker. Jean was the oldest child with two younger siblings—Janet Krofta (Larry) and Howard (Sandy). Jean was a part of first class to graduate from Valley Forge High School. She met Quincey Pauley in 1966 through his brothers while he was on leave from the Vietnam War. Through their mailed correspondence, Quincey proposed to Jean Pauley and sent an engagement ring. They married in 1967. They had two surviving children—Kyra (1968) and Donald (1971). They tragically lost their son, Timothy (1970), shortly after birth. In 1973, they made North Ridgeville their home. Jean worked at Dreco, Inc in North Ridgeville for most of her career. In 1987, Jean welcomed granddaughter, Kristen (Kyra), into the family. Jean retired in 2006. Jean was a member of New Community Baptist Church.
Jean had many hobbies and interests. Jean enjoyed bowling, reading, and gardening. Jean loved animals, especially her dogs (Gizmo and Buddy) and "grand-cats" and greatly enjoyed cooking and baking. Above all else, she loved her family and friends. Jean really enjoyed spending time with her cousins and extended family. Jean was a beloved and favorite aunt to all. Jean loved trips to Las Vegas. Jean was always a good friend—to her coworkers, bowling league teammates, and neighbors.
