JEAN L. WELCH (nee Corven) age 86, formerly of Avon Lake, Oh, beloved wife of the late Charles J., loving mother of Jan, Jim, Jeff (Vivian-deceased), Tom (Robin), Matt (Nonni), Tim, (Dottie), Sean (Gogi), Phil, Pat (Ruth) and Chris, grandmother of 17, great grandmother of 2, daughter of the late M. Lois (nee Kennedy) and John "Jack" Corven, sister of Billy Corven, Eileen Timson and Ann Harman, beloved aunt and great aunt of many. Jean went to nursing school in her 40's after her 10th child was born, worked
nights at St Joseph Hospital in Lorain, and raised her young boys at the same
time. In her retirement she volunteered and worked on a traveling bus that cared
for impoverished women. She felt a special connection to the family's two
decades in Avon Lake, to St Ed's wrestling and Howard Ferguson, to her Cape Cod,
and to her golden years spent with her beloved husband traveling and residing
peacefully close to her children in Bluffton, SC.
Passed away April 9, 2012. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD. NORTH OLMSTED THURSDAY 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Memorial services will be private for the family.
