JEANNETTE R. PRESLEY

Listen to Obituary

JEANNETTE PRESLEY (nee Kreitzer), age 90, beloved wife of the late Edward J. Presley; loving mother of Mike (Mary), Dave (Kathy), Steve (Karen), Alan, and Karen Veselic (Eric); proud grandmother of 13; preceded in death by her seven siblings and her grandson, Dylan; passed away April 21, 2026, of natural causes.

From grade school where she first met the love of her life, to the home she lovingly cared for and filled with warmth for decades, Jeannette Presley’s life was one rich in devotion, creativity, and family.

Born April 6, 1936, in Cleveland, Jeannette attended St. Stephen’s grade school and an all-girls high school, where she first discovered her lifelong love of sewing. What began as a school interest grew into a passion that stayed with her throughout her life.

Jeannette married her childhood sweetheart, Ed, and spent their early years together in Germany before returning home to build a life centered on family. Together they built two homes, the second of which they lived in for 50 years, creating a place filled with memories, laughter, and love.

A devoted homemaker, Jeannette later returned to the workforce at Genie of Fairview, where she worked for over 20 years before retiring. Whether at home or work, she was known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Her creativity extended far beyond sewing. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch, and embroidery, often making shirts and towels for her children and grandchildren. She could often be found in her sewing room or outside tending to her yard, planting flowers and trees. Her generosity showed in the handmade gifts she lovingly created for those around her.

She also loved baking holiday treats for her family, including her famous pecan tassies—whose secret ingredient was only discovered by family members later on.

Jeannette’s laugh was unforgettable—infectious and joyful, often ending in a playful snort that brought smiles to everyone nearby.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her creativity, and the deep love she had for her family.
