IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey J.
Andrey
February 5, 1957 – September 18, 2023
JEFFREY J. ANDREY, age 66, beloved father of Cheryl Cochran (Randall Slaughter); grandfather of Miles Cochran; son of Earline (nee Millen) and the late Kenneth Andrey; brother of Linda Whelan (Patrick) and Tracey Medley (Jeff); Uncle of Madisen and Austen Medley. Jeff was the Director of Operations at Garick Industries, LLC.
Jeff Andrey passed away Monday, September 18th surrounded by his family and loved ones. He bravely fought the battle against Glioblastoma for the past four years.
Jeff was born in Fairview Hospital. He was the son of Kenneth and Earline Andrey and encompassed the best qualities of both, Kenneth's love for photography and Earline's compassion and big heart.
He was an Eagle Scout; he hiked the 70-mile Emerald Necklace trail in Cleveland and continued to camp and kayak throughout his life. He attended North Olmsted High School and the Agricultural Institute of Technology at OSU. Jeff loved the outdoors and creating beautiful spaces through landscape design. This can continue to be seen through his local and travel photography, which spotlights scenery.
Jeff worked hard at everything from family, home indoor and outdoor projects, to work. He co-owned Dugan's Garden Center, worked at Kurtz Brothers, Gardenscape and most recently as Director of Operations at Garick. He had a passion for the environment and was working on a project at Garick that helped reduce food waste and created usable fertilizer.
Jeff was quick to laugh, loved food, a good chess game, sci-fi movies, reading, and music, specifically the 1970's. He loved watching The Browns with his brothers-in-law and attending family game get-togethers. Jeff spent time in Peru helping to build an orphanage and frequently donated to organizations to help others in need. He was always willing to share knowledge he had about plants and landscaping with anyone in need.
His biggest passion was his daughter Cheryl and grandson Miles. His last year was spent creating a home with them with annual and seasonal landscaping that will bloom for years to come.
A Celebration of Life open house will take place October 22nd from 1-5pm in the Orchid Room at the Miller Nature Preserve, 2739 Center Rd, Avon, OH 44011. Please join us to celebrate Jeff and please wear green in honor of his love of plants.
