JERRADINE M. "JERRI" BRYANT (nee Morgan), age 71.  Beloved wife of Roger F. Dennis; stepmother of Lynn Henry, Ben Dennis (Cassandra) and Andy Dennis (Christina); dear sister of Michael Morgan (Phyllis), Kris Witham (Rick), Kim Roark and the late Pat and Tom Morgan; aunt and great-aunt of many.

Jerri was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She went on to earn a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. After serving as a staff nurse at Ohio State University Hospital, Jerri's career quickly focused on prevention of healthcare acquired infections with her initial job at the Ohio Department of Health as the Infection Control Consultant. She subsequently served as a Nurse Epidemiologist at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta and at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

During this period (1972 – 1994), Jerri became a national leader in prevention of healthcare-related infections and served on the Certification Board of Infection Control as a Director and President, the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Infection Control and the Board of Trustees for the APIC (Association for Practitioners in Infection Control) Research Foundation. She was also active on many APIC committees and provided presentations and papers at the annual APIC educational conference over many years. The co-authored fifteen peer-review articles on healthcare associated infections as well as several book chapters. In total, Jerri made a significant contribution to the science of infection prevention and control.

In 1994 her career took on a new focus in quality management in healthcare and she held positions in Quality Improvement for two healthcare insurance companies based in Cleveland. Using her epidemiologic skills, in these positions Jerri gathered and analyzed quality performance data on medical care for reporting to accrediting bodies as well as use in internal performance improvement. She retired in 2011.

Jerri's professional career was dedicated to preventing healthcare-associated infections and improving patient safety in the healthcare settings she served while also making a significant contribution to the national body of knowledge in infection prevention and control.

At Jerri's request, cremation has taken place.  A private family Memorial will be held at a later date.
