It is with deep gratitude for a life well lived that we share the passing of Joanna Marie McKenna on August 28, 2026, who entered eternal rest at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving husband of 65 years, Bernard, and her cherished family.
Born and raised in County Kerry, Ireland, Joanna was the beloved daughter of Michael and Nora Allen, and the loving sister of Kathleen (deceased) and Mary Treacy (Michael).
Joanna and Bernard built a wonderful life together and were blessed with seven children: Brian (Therese), Enda (Helen), Peter (Lynn), Shivaun Stroski (Jeffrey), Nyall (Lisa), Colum (Mary), and Fiona Urquhart (Timothy). She was a devoted grandmother to 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
After immigrating to Cleveland at the age of 20, Joanna embraced her new home while never losing her pride in her Irish heritage. She loved being both Irish and American. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, and she held a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Joanna lived each day with gratitude, kindness, and grace. She had a gift for finding beauty in life’s simplest moments, strength in its challenges, and her greatest happiness in the company of those she loved. Her family and friends will remember the warmth she brought to their lives, the joy she found in being together, and the countless moments she made special. A cup of tea, a plate of sweets, and time shared with loved ones will forever carry the memory of a truly beautiful woman.
